Republic Party paid $150,000 for Palin's clothes.....
Shopping at Neiman Marcus and Saks....etc

Now wouldn't the money have come from American tax payers since McCain took Government campaign funds? And wouldn't that make Palin a socialist having her clothes supplied by the state?

3. in all seriousness
excuse me if this is a stupid question...does the DNC outfit the Obama/Biden families for appearances? And I never thought of, for instance, the RNC paying for Cindy McCain's outfits. This is just very strange to me...

7. Here's the kicker.....
You can get some decent looking stuff at Neiman's for $500 and less .... designer labels even ..... and of course they have higher end items that can go for thousands of dollars. If we give her the benefit of the doubt, and assume she's getting the lower end, at $500 a pop, that's 300 outfits.

So either she's buying enough clothes for the next year, or she's wasting tax payers money on outfits that cost over a grand. I dont care if I WERE independantly wealthy, I'd make a POINT to not spend an excessive amount on clothes because "Michelle Obama wore a $150 dress on The View" plays MUCH better than "Cindy McCain wore a $4000 dress to the RNC."

And that would be true even if we weren't in the early stages of a recession.

It's disgraceful.

14. There is always...
...The Rack ~~ outlet for Nordstroms ~~ or TJ Maxx.

But here is what I think: If you have good taste and know what is right for your shape and coloring, you can shop at the Good Will and look great.

9. Wow, John Edwards Got Hell For A $400 Haircut, But I Guess Fashion Is Expensive In Wasilla
I wonder whether Maureen Dowd will treat the McCain campaign in the same manner she has treaed Democrats. Or, perhaps MoDo is intimidated.

15. It would take John Edwards two full presidential election cycles to spend $150,000 on his hair.

12. How much more "Let them eat cake!!" can these effers be?

Lessee ... we've got Cindy's $131,000 outfit at the convention ... now we've got the RNC shelling out $150K for Sarah's duds (and probably little Piper's tiaras!). Let them eat cake!

I'll take Michelle Obama, who sticks a pin on a $99, off-the-rack dress, wears it on The View and causes a sensation. $99 vs. $131K.

Who's more in touch with the folks who are struggling through tough economic times????

On edit: White House/Black Market says the dress retails for $148, but I seem to remember Michelle saying she got it somewhere (might have been the Web site) for $99.
