How was your voting experience?

I voted today. I had an absentee ballot but decided to take it with me to the early voting poll instead of mailing it (got paranoid at the last minute plus I had the time to drop the ballot). The line was very long and there was no parking). I could not believe it cause last time it was a breeze for me.

I was happy! The poll workers look happy and where very helpful. I just hope things don't go sour from here.

1. Surprisingly pleasant

Despite being the first EV day, there was virtually no line and the election judges were very helpful. Unlike 2006, paper was the standard and Diebold was the alternative. They even encouraged us to choose paper over touch screen.

2. Pretty good.

Where I voted on Saturday (in Santa Fe, NM) they weren't entirely prepared for the large number of voters who showed up, but everyone was patient and mostly in a good mood. LOTS of media, including at least one foreign outlet, the Guardian UK.

The best part is later on, in the afternoon, there was a knock on my door and two Obama GOTV volunteers were there, and I could tell them I'd already voted!
