3. I worked in legislation to prevent this, going nowhere. Now, when suppression of vote real...

is this to tamp down enthusiasm? Also mentioning emergency solutions with some states?

Wish they'd talk about HAVA purging of names, much in good faith but having to comply and having bad comparative databases, where voters can still early vote and re-register.

We need to overwhelm the polls with voters, and many will get counted.

4. I'm probably too late, but thank you for the heads-up
That's good news! If stories like this keep running, people not only are going to keep an eye on their touch screens, but they are going to be all the more ready to believe the election was stolen if McCain wins.

(It's ridiculous that I'm reduced to being pleased that stories like this are being reported... they're a sad substitute for reports that the machines are actually being honest. But hey, at least it's better than 2004 when the MSM stuck its fingers in its ears and went "la la la....")

7. It happened to me in 2004 on a Diebold
It kept switching my Kerry vote to Bush over and over until I touched the screen right on the bottom line of the Kerry box. In other words Bush had 2 boxes you could touch and he would get your vote and Kerry had one thin line. You didn't even know it happened unless you looked carefully at the summary of your votes on the very last screen. How many people really check that?

9. I wish people who had this happen would have recorded it with their cell phone
most have camcorders built in, even 4 years ago, they were crappy but they had them. Maybe someone will record this if they have it happen, camcorders on phones now are great, at least mine is. glad you stopped your vote from going to lil' boots in 2004.

10. My BIG regret is that I didn't make a scene about it
I kept my mouth shut once I got the Kerry vote to go through and I berate myself constantly for not having had the guts to scream holy hell. I am in a totally Republican north Atlanta district and my husband and I take nothing but grief 365/24/7 from our 'friends' and neighbors to begin with for being Dems. It's stressful for me to even go to the polling place to vote because there is nothing worse than obnoxious wealthy know-it-all Republicans who are a majority of almost 100% here. Once I got the machine to record my vote for Kerry I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Now 4 yrs later I kick myself for it and if it happened again I would call the news media from the voting booth and then call the voting monitor person to my machine.
