5. I'm watching and listening and don't have a clue
what the hell they are complaining about. Evidently they don't like it that NC allowed Sunday voting and that some sites were in some additional sites. Obviously these sites were in black areas and the racist GOP is screaming about it.

6. Exactly -
The protesters story didn't quite smell right. The official offered to show him documentation and he was still spouting the same shit.

:silly:

8. That's exactly what it is. BOE rep. said the Board had already planned to have Sunday elections
months and months ago so "Roger's" argument is full of poop (in a nutshell).

The GOP protestors said the Sunday voters were "cheating" in the video.

If you heard "Roger", you can hear how angry and hostile he is when Sanchez questioned him.

11. "NC allowed Sunday voting" -- well.....
The fundies will scream that's a sin, don'tcha know.

Plus, it was in Fayetteville where that hate-filled Fanning woman wouldn't shake Obama's hand and kept yelling, "Socialist! Get out of here!"

Racism and religious fundamentalism...I can't wait until they're both irrelevant.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

7. sounded like garden variety voter suppression to me
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 02:17 PM by frickaline
As part of their defense they offered up that they were protesting McCain and Obama supporters alike. Well to me that makes it a pretty straight-forward case of voter suppression.

9. They said that Obama supporters were accomodated.
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 02:18 PM by peaches2003
We lived in NC near Fayetteville. 'Accomodated' means blacks were allowed to vote and these protesters won't stand for that. I dread to even imagine what will happen on 11/4.

10. It's going to be FUBAR'd in many places. I guess that's why the hard GOTV push
The ladies in my family voted together today and the men tomorrow. We wanted no parts of the 11/4 madness.

13. If you're discussing hecklers cussing out early voters-- that's new
within 21st Century voting in the USA, isn't it? This intense type, like another flashback to the Wallace days, or anti-abortion fanatics harassing women entering family planning clinics, directed at fellow citizens going to select the candidate they admire and respect. That hasn't happened has it?

I know there were intense right wing smearing lie campaigns aimed at distinguished candidates like Max Cleland, but did they extend to positioning angry shouters at polling places to harass early voters?

Sort of reminiscent of the Brooks Brothers "spontaneous" riots stopping the Florida recount. Those chaps also had a snarling cruelty...

But have not seen this kind of shouting harassment of voters, slandering their chosen candidates before have I? Has it occurred in other recent elections, or just now, after McLurch and Failin began stirring up hatred and division between self-appointed "real" Americans vs. the rest of us?

The only prior intimidation efforts I heard of were stationing "security guards" to look like cops outside the early voting places. And robo-fliers telling people intimidating things about governmental authorities that will be checking voting activities.

14. While it may be a new style, the result is the same.
It doesn't matter what the delivery mechanism is, it is fraud and it is a crime.

12. The Republican protester that was interviewed came across as a whining idiot.
These idiots are claiming that the Obama campaign somehow dictated that early voting be allowed on THAT Sunday to coincide with his rally. The election supervisor said that early voting on that date had been scheduled MONTHS ago.

How do those McCain supporters have a claim that this was unfair? Anyone could have voted, regardless of their party affiliation or which candidate they supported.

This looks more like voter intimidation than anything else.
