This Is McCain's ONLY Winning Chance:
He has to win each of the following states:

ND---He is up 4, but has lost 9 points this past month
WV---He is up 2.4, but has lost considerably
IN---He is up 4, not much change in the last month
FL---He is down 2, has lost 8 points this month
OH---He is down 3, has lost 5 points this month
MO---He is down 3, has lost 8 points this month
NC---He is down 3, has lost 13 points in a little over a month
NV---He is down 4, has lost 6 points this month
And, of course,
PA---He is down 11, has lost 9 points this month.

That is his ONLY winning map. He has ground to make up that he cannot make up. There is no other option for him. He is now just working for a loss.

1. I think you left off Virginia, a red state where he is also losing.

3. No... the OP was right. McCain's narrow path doesn't require VA

4. He won't win VA, and by this map, he doesn't need to.
He has indicated he is putting his eggs in the PA basket, in a sense admitting he won't win VA.

2. Pretty sure he also has to win Colorado, another "Bush" state where he's losing.

5. The OP's path gets McCain to 273 without CO or VA.

10. No way is he turning any blue state red. He is having to protect Bush's red states
and he's failing miserably. If turning PA red is his only chance, he may as well just pack it in and take an early retirement now.. cuz, not only are we KEEPING PA, but we're also taking at least 3 of those states, in addition to IA, CO, and NM.
