Wes Clark campaigning for Obama tomorrow in VA and NC

WSLS

Retired U.S. General Wesley Clark will come to Roanoke on Wednesday, October 22nd to campaign for Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama.

The retired General will hold a town hall style meeting at 5:30 p.m. at The Jefferson Center, at 541 Luck Avenue SW.

Clark will then move on to Harrisonburg to host a second campaign stop for Obama, later Wednesday night.

Clark served as Supreme Allied Commander of NATO during the Kosovo war from 1997-2000.

Before his visits in Virginia, Gen. Clark will make a stop for Obama in North Carolina:

Sanford Herald

Wesley Clark, the retired U.S. Army general and one-time Democratic candidate for president, will be in Sanford Wednesday to campaign for Barack Obama.

Clark will visit Java Express, located on Moore Street in downtown Sanford, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Paul Cox, North Carolina press secretary for the Obama campaign.

Clark was considered by some to be a potential presidential candidate for this year's election, but in September 2007, he endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton. He then backed Obama when Clinton dropped out of the race.

8. Has he gotten his Obama tat yet?
I see people on here bashing Wes Clark for not doing "enough" for Obama and I have begun to ask just how much MORE they want him to do beyond getting Obama's name tattooed on his butt...

The General rocks, and I am delighted to see him involved with Obama's organization. I was hoping for Wes Clark as the VP choice, but I'll take him in ANY role!

11. There was some thread in here Sunday about it.
It was right after Powell gave his endorsement and somebody was saying Clark needed to "do more" and he needed to endorse Obama. There were several posts pointing out that Clark has been working Obama in Florida and other contested states along with the fact that Clark endorsed Obama shortly after the Primary ended.

I think there is still a lot of anti Clark attitude here at DU and I wonder sometimes if it will EVER stop. I suspect it is kinda like the Clinton bashers, the Dean haters, and the Kerry critics--it just never dies completely. My personal prediction is that we'll probably see a similar thing for Obama once the election is over and he's sworn in.

:banghead:

12. Sounds like ignorance to me. As much as I hate it, I think "they" kept him away for a while.
But I hope he has some role in Obama's admin. He's such an incredible asset and patriot, it would be such a waste of brilliance, imo. Barack is pretty darn smart too. Surely, he will find a place for him.
