I wish I could have gotten my ballot autographed and framed instead of having to put it into the box
This morning I early voted in Orlando at the Supervisor of Elections Office on Kaley Avenue.

Today was the first time I've ever voted that I felt this way - it was like the first dollar a restaurant takes in or something like that for me. I really felt a level of ownership and pride in the process of taking back my government from the Republican crazies that I've never ever felt before.

I've been really proud to be involved in some of the campaigns I've been involved in and especially on pulling of wins in spite of the odds in some underdog races but this time I got to vote for Obama for President.

Then there was Alan Grayson for Florida Congressional 8 whom I helped out in the primary and will do more for in the last two weeks.

(Alan was the non-establishment TRUE progressive who used local grassroots rather than the DLC consultants and formulaic nonsense from D.C.)

Next came Scott Randolph for Florida House District 36 (a re-election of a truly remarkable progressive who pioneered our grass roots success in flipping R seats to D's here in Central Florida in the state house and now as campaign mgr for Grayson as well.

Then there was Jerry Demings for Sheriff who is a great guy with a great big heart and a mind rather than just another testosterone poisoned egomaniac with a badge.

Finally on the back side of the ballot I got to vote for three up and comers from the local YD's who ran for the Soil and Water commission.

I really wish I could have gotten it autographed by all these guys and put it up in my office in a frame...but unfortunately it had to go into the tabulator to get counted...

7. That's the way I will go as well.. Not sure what will happen with no 2.
there is a 60% majority now.. so, we'll see.. Its rather worrisome with so many new and young voters who may not understand the questions or who have not taken the time to know what a no or yes will mean.. I know a lot of people would love a tax break on their property.. but an increased sales tax will hurt many more people, and may not actually bring in the revenue needed for schools and cities. If prices increase, people will be forced to cut back even more.

4. It's NOT my first time votng...I'm 42 years old...
I voted in my first election in 1984 for Walter Mondale.

It's the first time I've been able to say I personally knew all the D's (excepting Obama) on the front page of the ballot and had a hand in working on so many of their campaigns. I really felt connected to them and felt good about their winning on Nov 4th.

5. Actually I would love to have mine back also. I come from a very
small rural precinct - maybe I will initial it and ask if I can ever get it back.
