3. and I think the point she was trying to make was that
Obama said he was just a guy in his neighborhood.

so since you have to explain things to them this is what I said:

"I think when he said that he was a guy in his neighborhood it didn't mean literally he didn't know him at all.

I have people in my neighborhood I don't know well but have been to things with them, helped out at PTO with them etc. But wouldn't introduce them as friend it would be neigbhor.

I don't really understand this whole Ayers thing. If they go after Obama don't they have to go after all the people on that board. All the republicans too, and the Anneberg's for allowing Ayers to be on board. This man is an author and professor now. He's won all kinds of awards. And McCain and Palin both have ties to radicals themselves. I just don't get it."

7. If you look at the way Obama was mentioned in the book
it actually CONFIRMS that these men regarded one another as "just a guy in the neighborhood"!

The Repugs are really grasping at straws with this shit!

11. One thing about the whole "Ayers" smearjob
that has consistently nagged at me is how or why McCain thought that it would be the best attack they could use against Obama considering the HIGHLY tangential (at best) nature of Obama's "connection" with Ayers, as well as the fact that so many other people, Republicans included, worked with him professionally in recent years and saw nothing wrong with doing so and, heck, even funded community projects that Ayers worked on. It's not even like Ayers has been involved in any criminal activity since the 1960's and, by all accounts, is now a model citizen. Shame on him for changing for the better!!! As "Christian" as most Republicans frequently claim themselves to be, they sure don't seem to appreciate the concept of redemption much.
