My sister reports that my 95 year old Dad votes for Obama in Missouri.
A straight republican ticket voter for years, who supported Barry Goldwater, heart broken to see what Bush has done to our country, goes for Obama today! This is the end of the world as we know it.

I'm sorry to say, it is probably to keep a woman from getting any closer to the Presidency. But I'll inquire as to his reasoning when I next talk to him.

Meanwhile, REJOICE!

1. Thanks!
I practically wanted to commit suicide last night after reading DU. But tonight is a bit more positive. I appreciate the touching story. It's always a good thing when Republicans come to the light. And the graphic, LOL!

There was only a minor one today, though.

2. "It's the end of the world as we know it,
and I feel FINE!"

My mother was a Goldwater (and IKE) supporter who abandoned the GOP during the Reagan years. She would have been a little younger than your dad, but hey: better late than never, as they say!

:toast:

3. So good the way Republican voters are
going TO Obama instead of staying home!

4. My 78 year old father
voted for Obama in South Dakota.

This is not quite as big news as yours because (1) South Dakota is not considered to be a swing state, (2) my father, although a registered Republican, has always been a swing voter, and has frequently voted Democratic over the years--usually a split ticket.

But he is a swing voter, and he did vote for Obama.

5. It's testament to the greatness of Obama.
And how everyone on either side can see it, and want to be a part of it. Like someone on this forum has said several times, the American people will choose between a clean glass of water, and one that's not clean.

95. Give him a big hug. For me.
