People , I hope the Kerry nay sayers and primary refighters
will learn a lesson from me. I merely related what was not a great experience in canvassing and my post from this board was lifted and quoted in the Wall Street Journal as evidence of base erosion and used against Kerry. Be careful( I know this sounds like Ari!) about what you post .Sometimes your words will even be taken out of context and misquoted. Lets show some unity here and rally round our nominee. We don't need to hand a gun to the Repugs so they can use it against us.Let's hang together for 60 more days and bitch after the election if you want.

16. DU's the only source they don't provide a link for. Know why? Because the
responses were pretty interesting.

Also, the story that follows about the Daly City event is idiotic.

The say the woman makes more than she ever has now. Well, uh, what if she moved to the Bay Area from Iowa. Maybe she was living on 30K there, moved to SF for a 75K job, but now makes 40K. She's making more than she ever has, but she's worse off economically. The WSJ is criticizing the woman for being misleading, but the WSJ isn't telling the whole story in their article (and they won't even provide the DU link for the previous story)!

4. Yes, but the satisfaction
that comes from starting chicken little post # 543 far outweighs any negative fallout that could come from having this board used as a proxy for Democratic sentiment.

I suspect, by the way, that hysteria here and elsewhere has an impact on what some news people end up deciding might be controversial, and controversy sells. I know if I was a 2nd line producer for some 2nd rate news show, I'd be all over message boards looking for story ideas. Find a mixup, and pitch it -- you never know.

6. Anything you say (and much that you don't) can and will be used
to help elect Bush.

Is it to much to ask for people to try to at least put the right spin on things for 60 days? Why do they think politicians 'spin'? -- to win!

8. So we should self-censor ourselves?
because it might be used against us on the editorial page of WSJ? Who cares? This sounds like Ari Fleischer's warning after 9/11 about being careful what you say. If this discussion forum is afraid of a free debate among sympathetic allies, I don't see what's the purpose other than cheerleading and repeating talking points.

15. Better to self censor
than be censored by the Government, which is what will happen if Bush is reselected! BTW, The MPPDA discovered tis truth a long time ago.

11. There's another one too
I won't give them the publicity, but last I checked, they were pretty busy arguing with themselves. It's getting pretty nasty, too.

I think they're spending too much time lurking DU. They need girlfriends.

10. I think it's clear that by design, theft, laziness, or accident
our words and notions here are sometime lifted and used by the opposition. I googled my name and found my entire post on Dead Reagan with point by point rebuttal. I'm not certain anyone should care if they mean what they write here, but it does prove that we should be sincere and mindful of the impact of our posts everywhere they may be viewed.

12. well your post wasn't used in the most negative text..
but I totally understand where you are coming from. This is one experience you had. For that one post you made there have been at least 20 posts that mentioned the success they had in recruiting not only people who normally don't vote but some republicans as well.

Consider it an honor that you spent your quality time trying to make a difference for our country by removing this criminal in the white house!

Cheers to you!:toast:
