Just got an email from a plumber I know

It basically was go bless the U.S. and how are troops are dying for our freedom and assholes are protesting our troops. I really couldn't read it. I just emailed back very nicely that I was voting Obama because of health care, so I could get coverage. He emailed back he was voting for obama too cause it would bring back his dead mother and went into a rant of how sick and evil obama was and how I was drinking the kool-aid. I emailed back don't ever contact me again seriously...I've known this guy for 10 yrs . I can't believe you can't even have a civil discussion with these people , they"re truly sick and they use religion as a weapon, like God is on their side, and no one else. I'm pissed.

Sorry...spasms of laughter here. You are correct, there is no civil discussion possible with this mindset. I guess I have permanently "severed" my heretofore cordial relationship with a relative because I mentioned I didn't much like being called stupid since I didn't believe that Obama is the Antichrist as it states in Revelations (sic). I had previously tried to set her straight about Obama being a Muslin (pretty sure she meant Muslim), and mentioned how it might be good to check these things out, but to no avail.

Ah, well, there's no chance of meaningful discourse, so might as well give up. As for those that believe God is on their side--well, they're a big part of the reason I've become an agnostic. If there is a God, he/she certainly must have a sense of humor!
