Scarborough says he would have tore Obama up in a campaign if he ran against him
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 07:16 PM by Tribetime
over Ayers. As long as Obama was white and had an Irish name. Says there's a double standard for Obama. Scarborough is truly self-centered and nuts. McCain is the one getting a free pass on his past associations. One more thing Joe you're no Barack Obama not even fit to shine his shoes.

1. He's right that there is a double standard in the media, and he should know
If there weren't, Laurie Klausutis would be a household name just like Chandra Levy. Either that or Gary Condit would be Joe Blowhard's co-host.

3. I heard this and its absurd. If anything, Obama's race makes others
MORE suspicious of his associations. No one is treating the Ayers stuff with kid gloves. They are going at it full boar, pointless as it is.

5. yes, Scarborough was particularly revolting tonight.
Republicans are allowed to be friends with or accepting of Republican terrorists, or terrorists who serve the Republican agenda, so yes, there is a double standard. Oh yeah, and it really pisses me off when Joe acts like he has no skeletons in his own closet (or office...) and when Pat calls someone ELSE racist.

10. I cannot fathom this idea that Obama has it easier because of his race
It is an absurdity. Their problem is that in the past they have used racism and fear mongering to excite their base without EVER having to be accountable for it. The role of Obama's race in this election is that it makes it impossible for them to hide.

15. Scarborough is a childish bully who talks tough to mask his bedwetting and inadequacy...

Joe just talks right over anyone who disagrees with him. I happened to be watching on that pathetic day when he tried to dodge losing a dispute with Shuster by talking about how many times Shuster had come in to work late...

After one of the most unprofessional displays I'd ever seen, Joe then all but called Shuster a baby until he came back on camera and accepted Joe's apology -- It was like a locker room bully who tries to improve his image with the girls by having his victim say "we joke around together like this" while his underwear is still pulled over his head.

That incident pretty much tells you all you need to know about Joe. Sure, he'll talk brashly about "What I'd do to Obama." But those comments ring as hollow as Lieberman's ringing of the war chimes. If either of the two actually stood on the battleground they crow about, it would be a race to see whose shoes started puddling up first.

And the outcome of that race would have more to do with the kind of socks they were wearing than the character of either Joe.

17. I guess Joe thinks that if he ran against Obama....
he couldn't win on issues or substance and there was nothing legitimate to criticize Obama with, so he would have had to run a dirty, nasty, bottom of the barrel campaign. I agree....he would have.

20. The pessimism has set in and they are now trying to discredit Obama any way they can.
The Republican base can blame themselves for much of the way McCain's campaign has turned out. They dished him, mocked him and hoped he wouldn't be the Republican candidate in 2008, then when he won the primary that gave the impression they would hold their nose and vote for him. There was no excitement for McCain until they convinced him to pick Palin as his running mate. She was their type of gal. Now, it appears she may be a major cause of McCain's downfall.

24. How many men have been ruined by Ayers?
Really? If Ayers were so toxic, every public figure he came in contact with would be disgraced. Annenberg would be disgraced. The association is only problematic because McCain pushes it so hard, and he gets limited millage from it.

29. Scarborough was not a "star".
He came into office in the Newt Gingrich "herd"... back when people still believed Repubs cared about the deficit (ha! that's good one!), and that was "the focus issue" at the time. A dead cat could've been elected in his place, at that time.
