My 84 year old grandmother will support Obama
I just got off the phone with her in California (a safe state). She was a huge Hillary supporter. Let's also say that her views on race are not what we would call progressive. She often uses the word "schvartze" to describe black people (though I've never heard an N-word). She also opposes interracial dating or marriages.

My father had told me for months that his efforts to get her to support Obama were going nowhere. Well today I called her today, and she did not need any convincing. She said Obama was "great" and that he has "a lot to offer".

Now we just have to make sure that my aunt and uncle get her an absentee ballot so she can vote. She doesn't drive anymore and she has trouble walking.

2. schvartze essentially means the N-word
so that's surprising and good to hear.

5. I think Grandparents listen to grandchildren much more than
they listen to their own children. So good for you.

6. Obama brings 'em around! I knew he
would when so many were worried in the primary.

Great story, bluestate!
