Powell Endorsement: Nobody here doesn't share the karma
Not me, not any of the posters who express doubts, not the ones who rage against him. Yes, General Powell has more than a lot of other people, and he's started working it off. He gets credit for that. He has a lot more to do, and from my perspective it may take him a couple more lifetimes to get it done, but it's a start.

What's yours?

1. Admitting a mistake is more than enough.
We were certainly willing to forgive John Kerry, John Edwards, and Hillary Clinton for their enormous contributions to taking us to war with Iraq.

Great LOLCat, and beyond its unquestionable effectiveness in
expressing your perspective, it's got about as much content as a Sarah Palin debate question response.

3. I agree.
I'm still very disappointed in him, but even he is not beyond redemption.

4. Isn't part of the American dream that people get second chances.
Powell deserves one.

John McCain got a second chance after the Keating Five. Bill Ayers got a second chance...well, kind of....until the right saw him as a piece of mud to be slung at Obama in an attempt to smear him and win an election.

5. Agreed
I find the "this doesn't make up for..." arguments to be sophomoric. Of course it doesn't. But he made the right choice HERE, and we should acknowledge that as is - with no preconditions. Or is that a bad thing? I forget. ;)

9. Not my belief, but maybe yours is different.
I don't believe anyone is damned eternally by their acts - offsetting acts and behavior are required, but I don't believe anyone burns in hell eternally without hope.

8. I hope he spends the rest of his life exposing all the crap of the Repubs
He is in a unique position to put out the corruption for all to see and to learn from to not allow to happen again.

Time will tell. I'm glad he endorsed Obama from a political standpoint, but yes - he can do much much more to redeem himself and set the record straight.

12. You don't get any props for endorsing Obama.
Supporting Obama doesn't make you a good person.

Supporting McCain would make you a bad person, but supporting Obama is just a basic requirement for being a decent human being.
