Sarah Palin's coming to my stompin' grounds, and it would be awfully rude of me to not give her a warm Democratic welcome...

Seriously, I'm looking for pro tips from others who've been at anti-Palin or anti-McCain protests at their events.

Is it possible to get in and heckle? Probably not, so I'm more thinking joining the protesters at the gate. Chances are good we're really gonna feel the love from the hatetards that actually think Palin's cool. I am definitely interested in safety tips for dealing with that so we can avoid getting lynched.

Oh, and I need costume ideas. Maybe I could wear a Confederate Civil War uniform, with a sign saying "SECESSIONISTS FOR PALIN!" Hey, the way I figure, I'm not gonna change any minds, so I might as well heckle.

Other than that, any ideas? Anything I need to know?

4. That's true, I could.
Not sure what good it'll do with the crowd I'd likely see.

Actually, the group that's organizing the protest is suggesting wearing white and bringing U.S. flags.

21. Camera: check.
I'll be making sure I have a decent-sized memory card in mine (got a digital camera that can do video, though it's more designed as a still-camera.)

7. Ugh yea she's supposed to be here on Monday
It's sure to be another hate rally, her and McCain need to stay out of Colorado, I still have faith we can turn this state blue.

8. I'm thinking they don't need riling up in the least for the next 2 weeks ; )
I'm really worried about physical violence that could occur these last days of the campaign. Those losing power are the mean ones too. Yikes!

It would be cool to go as a spy. Pretend to be a McCain supporter and tape/write down all you can and report back on it. They'll speak their mind those they think are of their own kind. B-)

10. Idea for a sign:
"Who 'Drill, Baby, Drilled' all the bullshit into your head?" or something similar.

My brother is a police officer, so if you could, don't give them a hard time unless they are being dicks. Just be polite to them and do what they say, unless its breaking your right to free speech.

12. Would this be out of line?
Dress up in white sheets like a Klansman, and carry a sign saying "RACIST ASSHOLES FOR PALIN!"

13. Police
Don't be so sure, at Hofstra a vet got his head cracked by a cop on a horse. Be careful, and always bring a camera.

15. Need more sign ideas:
Maybe quoting Muthee, or quoting Vogler "I refuse to be buried under that damn flag!"

More silly costume ideas too...

18. I'd go in full-on costume.
Either a Moose, or a Wolf. Carrying a sign: "Mooses Against Palin" or "Wolves Against Palin."

Fight 'em with humor. :-) If anyone comes up and gets in your face while you're wearing a big-ass moose costume, well, the joke's kinda on them, isn't it?
