1. They're bouncing up and down one or two points, but all indications are within the same range.
Pray for Election Night to End Early.

2. That should calm down the people who loose all hope with every fluctuation of a tracking poll.
...for now.

11. once I see a 55%+ figure
I might feel a bit more comfortable. I don't trust these people counting the votes. I've seen too many things amiss already.

GOBAMA!!

14. You will *never* see 55%
Not in this country. Not anymore.

4. Obama steady at 50 or so with 6-7 undecided
hopefully this will mean 54% on Nov 4th. I'll believe it when I see it.

5. They're not undecided -- they just don't care
And probably won't vote.

9. The Bradley Effect doesn't exist
I remember Tom Bradley's try at Governor quite well (he'd have made a wonderful one). Everyone knew beforehand he was probably going to lose by a hair because of updated polls that conflicted with the stuff that had been handed out to the media. Every academic who has legitimately followed the data has been unable to see any real "Bradley effect".

7. After 8 long years of Republican crap, who could possibly still be on the fence?
You're probably right. They only want to vote for someone who says precisely what they want to hear and in the way they want to hear it. Undecideds I have met are the most cynical, self-centered, fearful, impenetrable, immobilized people. Caught in permanent limbo and pissed off at the entire world.

8. The low-information, too-stressed-by-life, too-entertained-by-toys American voter
The group is growing smaller by the day but they're still out there. I have "undecided" neighbors (and I've spent six months trying to talk sense to them).

12. I wish I knew
My neighbors are young people in their very early 30s. They have three kids who are all on Federal health care. They've both been on relief in the past. But they are mega-fundies. I'm afraid these kinds of people are just going to have to hurt a LOT before they have any sense knocked into them.
