NC Polls having to keep doors open late
Early Voting spots of my county in NC were suppose to close at 1 p.m. today. My polling place, in a rural area of the county, decided to stay open until 5 p.m. because it was absolutely packed. If it was like that there, I can only imagine what it was like in the city.

On the first day of Early Vote in NC, 100,000 people voted and 64% were registered Democrat. If that percentage holds true through today, which I think it will, its a good sign for Obama.

3. NC could catch McCain napping
I'm not sure McCain is taking it seriously, at least not until it may have been too late. Much like Al Gore and Tennessee in 2000. In 2000 polls showed Gore was in trouble in Tennessee, but his campaign didn't take the threat seriously, thiking that Tennessee would just "come around". Finally, in late October, Gore realized he had better get his butt down there to campaign (which was embarassing; having to campaign in your home state in October), but it was too late.

6. Yes, McCain is taking it seriously now, but it may be too late
and even if he does string together a win in NC, then look at all the money he had to piss away to win it; money than could have gone to Florida or Virginia. If he loses just ONE of those states or Colorado, Ohio, Indiana or Missouri then he is finished.

here.

4. That's excellent news!
Let's hope the trend continues, especially with Democrats and Independents. The earlier people vote, the more likely they will avoid the challenges and intimidations that are bound to be rampant on Nov. 4. I want a blue rout on election day and big win in NC is essential for that.

8. Assuming that they keep daily totals, I was voter 1089 yesterday afternoon in N. Chatham Co.
So, maybe we could expect an average of 1200-1300 voters per day during early voting in our growing, but still rural county just South of Chapel Hill. The poll workers were very good; no deceptive stuff or bullshit going on outside the voting site.
