McCain is dominating the press....
Thursday and Friday, all three major Cable News outlet's websites featured pictures of McCain all day. Today, I am seeing full McCain rallies carried compared to snippets of Obama. Geez--I know they want a tight race for ratings but this tilting is extreme. Where the hell is the liberal media that they are so fond of speaking of?

2. This is good. Obama wants the polls to be close. We need turnout.

7. Obama does not want the polls to be close.
That is a strange thing to say. He wants people to come out and vote and not rest on their laurels but no way does he want it to get closer.

5. They are giving more free press to McLame as they figure Obama has more money
Not that surprising to me. Personally, I think they sould give free chunks of network time every few weeks throughout the election season to both candidates.

29. Not ! Obama's coverage has always been more negative
He has to spend more money because the MSM and press all lie and are so biased. How many times a day do they run McPalin's ads for free? Go to Media Matters they have all the numbers.

11. I agree.
Most people are not watching politics on the weekend. Baseball, football, or other sports events, along with going shopping, and spending time with their families. It's the weekdays that people come home from work and watch the news and catch up with what has been going on in the presidential race. The up side is that McCain and Palin are still preaching hate and that is not going over very well with any american with a brain!

12. And How Is He Dominating It?
Qualitative vs. Quantative...there are plenty of negative stories out there despite Camp Gramps attempt to amp up the noise. It's failing and helping Senator Obama.

The "Joe The Plumber" gimmick has been a loser no matter how the GOOP tries to spin it. "Joe" was proven to be a fraud, and in the process, Gramps "tax policy" was proven to be a fraud as well. "Joe" WOULD get a tax break under the Obama plan. Gramps "created" this "common man" strictly for his dwindling base...as he's proven time and time again he's clueless about the economy.

Each gimmick Camp Gramps throws out there gets less and less shelf life. If he's "staying in the news" is that he and his surrogates are making it seem that way. Most people I know and talk to are decided on their votes and any attacks on their candidate (and yes, I know a couple who will vote against their best interest and vote for Gramps) just hardens their position. We're seeing these sliming attacks and gimmicks are turning people OFF on Gramps...so let him keep throwing them out there...people see them for distractions and not solutions.

13. I recall many Presidential campaigns. In this one, the MSM has been
the most flagrantly biased toward the Republicans. What is driving this? Money? Power?

16. It's simple enough to say that it's money. Yet, how would that work?
Four more years of the Republican criminality and the economy will be totally bankrupt. How could that benefit those who are controlling the media? I just don't understand what is happening.

I do feel that if the Dems take over next year, there is a chance that this media propaganda might get controlled although Clinton didn't even try. Dean said that if elected he would work on breaking up the monopolies. One week later he was bounced out of the race by the "scream" set up.

Back then we had no Keith Olberman, no Rachel Maddow.. was Air America even on the air?

All we had was the internet.

21. Yes, we do have a few bright spots in the media. But, otherwise,
the TV media seems to be pushing McCain 24/7 and in some very slimy ways. I didn't feel this way in 2004.

28. 04 was much worse.
for the reasons you speak of and also because of the much more intense self-censorship on "the war."

the MSM was scared of the White House in 04

23. I have noticed this as well.
FULL McCain / Palin speeches, little snippets of Obama - including very little mention of his rally in St. Louis (100,000 FRICKIN PEOPLE!) and Biden may as well have dropped off the face of the earth.

24. Not only is McCain getting more coverage
but the media allows the McCain campaign to dictate what issues actually get talked about.

Obama is out there every day talking about jobs, health care, middle class tax relief, etc., and what do we hear about on the news? Ayers, Acorn, "Bradley Effect", "Joe the Plumber". whether Obama is a "socialist", etc.

Even legitimate stories that cast the Repugs in a negative light (e.g., Palin's abuse of power) get ignored.

26. The only "liberal media"
consists of a handful of radio talk shows (Ed Schultz, Bill Press, etc.) heard in limited markets and a few commentators on the cable stations that are limited in what they can say on the air.
