The great irony being that the very thing the GOP is doing, their mcCarthy-like actions, are un-American. They violate the principles of a democracy. How DARE this party claim it has the hold on the REAL America? This reeks of Nazi Germany and it is no laughing matter.

At the same time they accuse the left (actually the center, but they don't seem to get that) of being socialists, they have initiated Fascism in the supporting big corporations with tax payer money and profits go to the rich, the endless Flag Nationalism, the bible is on "our side".

...We've seen this before. And it didn't end well.

25. As someone who lives in Northern VA, I did NOT come from the District, but I sort of agree with her

Northern Virginia's like an entirely different place than the rest of the state. In fact I would be all for a secession from the state. Most of our taxes go to pay for improvements in southern Virginia - we get like 30 cents back out of every dollar that goes to the state.

Meanwhile our roads are in complete gridlock, the state won't agree to public transportation initiatives, and so on. We generate most of the funding for the state and then continually get shit upon by the republican controlled congress.

So yeah, she wasn't very eloquent, but I would venture to say that most of us living in Northern Virginia don't feel much affinity to the rest of the state. This is shared. However, we all didn't move from the district - that's just an absurd and weird attempt at a "San Francisco style" slime. Most of us moved from other parts of the nation.
