Cindy McCain's tax returns...
WTF, she made 4.2 mil and paid 1.1 mil. That's 26%.

I pay closer to 35% and make a fraction of what she makes.

A prime example of exactly why they need to have some of the wealthy pulling a bit more of their own share.

1. And again: actually she paid around 3.75%
She Overpaid 2007 by a whopping 950,000 or so. She then filed an amended return to get back the overpayment, bringing her total tax bill for 2007 down to around 150,000 - for something like a 3.75% effective tax rate.

2. Did she overpay 2007 on purpose, just to make it look like she pays taxes?
3.75% is virtually nothing!

3. Actually now I don't know anymore.
Yesterday it seemed as if the numbers were as I stated. Now that may all be wrong and she may have filed in April for 2.2 million, and then on the 15 for 1.1 million, the 950K may have been subtracted from the 2.2 not from the 1.1, the 1.1 may be the final figure.

The effective rate may be 26% after all.

4. We paid 45.99% - our combined income is WELL below $50,000
in 2007 AFTER all deductions and allowances we paid

12.49% Federal Income Taxes
1.5% Federal Medicare Tax
12.4% Social Security Tax (yes, I am including what my employer pays on my behalf instead of paying me)
5.3% Georgia State Income Tax
14.3% to various local and state fees licenses sales taxes, real estate taxes, ad velorum taxes etc.

I tracked every single solitary penny we made and spent (praise quicken). So even if the gubmint gives the RW talk hacks a way to include me in the "half of Americans pay no taxes" bullshit, I'd still be coughing up 32.5% of my income in taxes. Not to mention all the hidden taxes various businesses pass on to me in every single penny I spend to keep a roof over my head and food on my family. - I'd hate to do the math and figure out what I spent in gasoline taxes...............
