Hell definitely just froze over. Salt Lake Tribune (Utah!) endorses Obama!

A simple choice: The nation needs Barack Obama in the White House
Tribune Editorial
Article Last Updated: 10/17/2008 08:06:04 PM MDT

The next U.S. president will lead a nation that remains embroiled in two wars and is beset by an economic meltdown more severe than any since the Great Depression.
By necessity, the country's next commander in chief must also be its mender in chief, capable of inspiring his angry and divided constituents to join together in a recovery project to restore the peace, prosperity, and self-confidence we once knew.
We fear that a lesser effort may be insufficient to reverse America's slide toward economic, political and societal chaos. The times require dramatic and comprehensive change.
The presidential candidates know it, and have made it their mantra.
Most Americans know it, and, in growing numbers, are demanding it.
The countries that have long depended upon the United States for enlightened global leadership long for it.
For the sake of all, and for those who follow us, we must have it.
The editorial board of The Salt Lake Tribune believes that Barack Obama can deliver it.

26. But SLC is where most of the non-Mormons are concentrated, and it's the
most liberal city in the state.

28. I think Park City is *way* more liberal than SLC.
I was born and raised in SLC, but I live in a small town by Park City now. At any rate, it is VERY exciting news! GoBama! :bounce:

8. Well this means there won't be any Plausible Deniability if this election is stolen...
This will definitely have to be an Old Soviet Style Election --where all the opposition votes are dumped and the ruling party candidate wins BIG ---stolen right out in the open, and challenges anyone to deny they are the winner when everyone knows the election was stolen.

19. Lets get this paper and the Chicago Tribune to Vow
to cover any and all electronic vote count problems to its end, then we will have something, what they do right now is meaningless unless they will pursue electronic vote count fraud after the election.

They can support Obama now, but if their papers have a BLACKOUT of the electronic vote count problems after the election, their support now is as useless as tits on a bull.

30. The SL Tribune used to be the anti mormon paper
when the catholics ran it (started by the Kearns family because Tom Kearns wanted to run for the Senate and couldn't get any press in the other papers)

But it endorsed Bush in 2004 and took a TON of heat for it.

Glad to see this but it DOES NOT mean that mormons will vote Obama

We'll consider ourselves lucky if Obama gets 1/3rd here. Utah had the highest percentage for Bush in 04 of any state.

We hope OK will beat us this year.
