3. She is awesome..
it's amazing what the has managed to accomplish with the Republicans trying to block her efforts at every turn. Her EVEREST study was the most informative paper on voting systems that I have read.

7. Weren't they forward thinkers in Ohio who designed that Obama flag?
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 10:45 PM by Tigress DEM
How lovely for John Eisemann to have accidentally created in 1902 the perfect flag for 2008's best Presidential candidate!

The Ohio flag, unique in shape but uncomplicated in design, is filled with symbolism. The union of the flag, a large blue triangle is populated with seventeen white stars. Those that are grouped around the circle represent the thirteen original colonies. The four stars found at the apex of the triangle combine with the stars of the thirteen original colonies to total seventeen. Ohio was the seventeenth state to enter the union.

Three red and two white horizontal stripes and the blue field copy the red, white and blue of the Stars and Stripes. The blue field represents Ohio's hills and valleys. The stripes represent the roads and waterways of the state.

The white circle with a its red center forms the "O" in Ohio and can also be related to the state's nickname, the "Buckeye State."

9. LOL!. Yep. That was ultra visionary foresight and then some.
I love it that the Pukes didn't know what was going on with this flag.

It was hilarious.

15. Letter to Sec of State Brunner
SUBJECT: Thank you for fighting for Ohio's right to be heard in the 2008 election! I know it's your job, but you are really getting beat up for doing it.

Some "boots on the ground" fighting for America's freedom are right here - and you are standing right in a pair.

DU (Democratic Underground) SALUTES YOU!

and winning! -- for the right of democracy to survive and be heartily practiced.

18. She's SOS of Ohio thanks to the Secretary of State Project. . .
www.secstateproject.org

Back in 2006, this blog/PAC was formed in response to Ken Blackwell's shenanigans in Ohio during the 2004 election. Jennifer Brunner was one of the first candidates to be spotlighted and endorsed by this group, and the netroots were encouraged to donate.

If it weren't for this org, I wouldn't have known about her. As it was, I tossed a few bucks her way back then. Today's news confirms it was some of the best $$ I ever spent, not just for her/Ohio, but for the candidates in Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada and New Mexico that the SOS Project endorsed with success.

This year, they are supporting the good guys in Oregon, Montana, Missouri and West Virginia.

Brunner is the product of the dedication and clarity of the people who I want in the room to solve the problems we face as a nation.

Nice job, folks. And thank you.

24. Brunner is one fantastic argument for electing SOSs.
Lordy, I wish we could do the same in Tennessee. Our SOS is a toadstool with ears and his State Election Coordinator is a tool of the voting machine companies. Always has been -- always will be.
