Do you want Palin to appear on Saturday Night Live tomorrow?
Tonight I voted early for Barack Obama and Joe Biden and all the other Democrats running in my state/county. I have done all I can and now I feel somehow free and empowered. Crazy I am. (best Yoda voice)

After I came home from voting I got to thinking about Saturday Night Live and sarah palin being on it. If palin did not follow the rules when she was in a debate, why do we think she will follow a script while on SNL? Why do we think that she will not use this opportunity to again slander Barack and try to influence the voters who otherwise would not hear her lies? I then crazily sat down and sent off a message to SNL and what I thought about her appearance on their show. I will show you what I sent them, and although I didn't put it in my message, another thing is if she will not answer questions for the press, why should any show give her free time?

My message followed by the link to their message board.

I was greatly upset with your having Sarah Palin on your show this weekend. I am sure this woman will use this appearance to once again 'maverick' around what she is suppose to say and do, and use her appearance to say what she wants to say and do.

As you well know, Ms Palin and her running mate have used lies and false accusations to incite their rally audiences to the point where some have threaten Barack Obama's life. They (Palin and McCain) have accused their opponent of being unpatriotic and a terrorist. Their robo calls to voters are slanderous and their other tactics are far from ethical.

One thing that puzzles me is that if Mr. Obama appearing on your show meant he wanted to be a celebrity, then what does it mean for Ms. Palin to be on it. Are you not helping her be hypocritical in this endeavor?

I am not sure yet if I will watch your show on Saturday, but I know one thing and that is when Ms Palin is on screen, I will not be watching. And whether or not I ever watch your show again is something I will have to decide on following this coming show.

1. Good for you.
Having Palin on the show gives her a legitimacy that I don't believe she has earned. It also lessens my esteem for SNL.

your right the sad thing is that she doesn't do any interviews other then her base like hannity and limballs, and now, she's looking for a cheap shot at sucking up votes, i hope they won't be so clean on her.

6. Send them a message and let them know what you think.
I wish everyone who thinks this is unfair use of the airways for them to appear unhampered would email them and let them know how they feel. I wish their message board would be overflowing by tomorrow noon.

9. I just sent them mine...........
"I am really surprised that you would even consider having her on your show. You are giving her a legitimacy that she does not deserve and this decision has also lessened my esteem for your program.
Barack Obama is scoring so high in the polls because he has stayed above all this shoddiness. Your show, alas, has not.
Tina Fey's mimicking has been brilliant. You should have quit when you were ahead."

2. Yes, I emailed immediately this note:
"I do not know HOW you can have this candidate on your show. She who works rallies like a fascist, and tolerates shouts from the crowd that the opposing candidate is a 'terrorist" and shouts of "kill him". Would you have any other hate spewer on your show just because you think it is 'funny'? I can tell you now, voters will not see her as funny or ironic, and she won't realize thay your having her on is a joke~she just doesn't get that, it is beyond her cranial capabilities.

Shame on you for forwarding the cause of divisiveness and hatred in this political year. You evidently don't realize you are being used to advance the cause of hate."

Really, the folks at NBC are being used to help spread propaganda at this point. She isn't a celebrity, she is a hate-mongerer.

7. I guess I'm just a big enough SNL fan
to believe they'll be making fun of her without her even realizing it. SNL has been huge in making her known to the masses. Her one-skit gig is not going to make or break the election. She'll probably have some totally lameass skit where she (shocker) plays Fey "really really dumb". Then she'll smile, wave and be gone and they'll get back to the real show.

I will Tivo it. I think it's going to be interesting.

12. I don't know, but that is a good thing to ask them.
Because that is one of the things that worries me about all this. What do we know about what she will do. I don't count on her following the lines they give her or the rules they set up and I don't trust the rules their campaign might have set up.

14. I just read that she asked them to be
on the show and they agreed.

Also caught this on buzzflash last night about the possibiltiy of the other candidates making an appearance.

"'Fey, candidates to visit 'Saturday Night Live'"

"Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of “Saturday Night Live,” predicts that the presidential and vice presidential candidates will stop by the comedy show before the election. He also said in a phone interview Tuesday that Tina Fey will return to play Gov. Sarah Palin.

“I think sooner or later, everyone will come through,” Michaels said of the candidates. He declined to give dates as to when “Saturday Night Live” viewers might see Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, as well as their running mates, Sen. Joseph Biden and Gov. Palin."

“In 2000, both Bush and Gore came on,” Michaels noted. As for when this crop of candidates would appear, he said, “I don’t know when. We’re always talking to everyone.”

As for Fey coming back to reprise her role as Gov. Palin before the election, Michaels said, “I think that’s likely.”

Even though Fey’s depiction of Palin has helped drive the show to a 50 percent increase in ratings over last year, Michaels confirmed what Fey said in a recent interview with TV Guide – that she’s done playing Palin after the election.

32. This was my note to them
Subject: Sarah Palin? Are you nuts?

The future of the freaking world is hanging in the balance, and you're going to give free publicity to a walking contradiction, an affront to women, a lying corrupt secessionist, a nasty Rapture-craving fundamentalist, a "buy your own rape kits" women's right hater?

That kind of insertion of what must apparently be your own personal political agenda isn't funny, it's sick.

We're mired in a willful occupation of aggression that's costing $10 billion a month, the government is forking out $700 billion to salve the egos of a few rich bankers, the United States Supreme Court has already been tilted to the crackpot fundamentalist side by eight years of the Unelected Usurper, and you're going to force-feed someone who kills tiny wolf puppies to your young and impressionable audience when that group is registering to vote like never before in this election.

This has got to be the most irresponsible use of the public airwaves I have ever heard of. Too bad Reagan destroyed the Fairness Doctrine, because what you're giving is 90 minutes of political right-wing propaganda toward the future complete destruction of our society under John "Keating Five" McCain and Sarah "Mooselini" Palin.

I am saddened and appalled at your recklessness.

Please reconsider.

Sincerely,
(name)

42. I would not complain if I thought this was just another candidate.
And don't bring the Hillary and Barack's competition into it. At Hillary's worse, there were not people in her audience calling for Barack's death or even near riots. If this woman was not doing the disgusting things she is doing, I could care less about what she did or where she appeared.

Just think of Kanye West and the air time he got for going off script and saying just six words. Imagine how desperate these people are and how brazen sarah palin is. I don't like her, but most importantly, I don't trust her.

Considering the response to her recently at the dropping of the first puck, I am dumbfounded that she would appear before an east coast metropolitan New York audience... on LIVE TELEVISION.

Is she really that clueless about how much she's pissed off all but the most rabid, idiotic supporters who show up at her rally's?

Sarah Palin will not go on Meet The Press or any other serious venue but, according to Tina Fey, is calling SNL so she can make an appearance there? How utterly shallow for a supposed V.P. Candidate!
