Even with the new money, does Tinklenberg have a chance of winning?
Or is it a red, red, red district?

I'm trying to find the numbers on this race as it stands currently.

3. One recent poll shows Bachmann with a narrow lead.
My hope is that the lead was shrinking before today and that the new cash and zing will carry her away.

No progressive in the nation will miss her.

12. It really could.
Minnesota is going to be a breath-taking state on election night.

I think Obama whips McCain by a huge percentage and it would be a deeply lovely thing to see Minnesotans dump both Norm Coleman and Michelle Bachmann all in one evening.

Those loud cheers you'd be hearing would be coming from my house.

17. I'm not in either state but I can't stand both Senators!
Liddy is a vat of Cool Whip. No substance there at all. Just sweet fluff.

And Coleman is just a disgusting, twisted excuse for a public servant. Yuck.

16. R+5 district.
R+5 = 5 more percentage points for Bush in 2004 than the national average. Bush officially won by 3 nationally, and by 8 in that district.

21. This crazy fool thought it was okay to say that McCarthy crap ON TV!
That's how nuts she is.

Usually freaks like her at least know not to let the hand slip out of the puppet, ya know?

22. Her district seems to be seriously gerrymandered.
People who live both to the east and west of us are in her district. Literally right down the highway in both directions. I'm in Ashwin Madia's district and I think he's going to win. That will be a pickup from Ramstad who's retiring.

I think they have scooped in to pick up the Catholic anti-abortion vote which is heavy in my county, but that is where Tinklenberg is from so that will help. Stillwater, where she is from, it red. But the demographics are changing as people move out that way from the city so it's hard to know if it's pinker now.

Her competition last time around was a little weak campaign-wise. She is a very wonderful woman but as not very good on the stump. I think Tinklenberg is stronger. He has a good shot now because the negative garbage tends to backfire in Minnesota if it is too overt. Minnesota likes "nice" candidates. Til now she's been able to somewhat fly under the radar with her nastiness, however, this stunt she pulled tonight might have just cost her the election. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

23. Thanks for that information.
Very interesting. I hope her nastiness breaks nationally and breaks hard in Minnesota. Good luck to Tinklenberg--hope the $$$ helps!
