2 Week Self-Imposed DU Intervention

Dear DU Friends,

Forgive me if I take a couple of weeks off at such a historical time

After 2000 and 2004, I just can't take the emotional roller coaster.

I guess I am a coward.

I will be back on election day to check up on all of you and I know I can count on babylonsister, sabra, Mr. Pitt and others to keep you posted until then.

I believe Obama will be our next president.

I believe that it will be difficult, very difficult to return to the constitutional democracy that our forefathers imagined.

I believe that it will take a COSMIC SHIFT and thats what I hope for.

I am off to prepare myself for whatever comes next.

No TV, no radio, no internet -

Wish I could join ya. I just don't have that kind of self-control. I would rather have my stomach tied in knots for the next 18 days and hear every little bit of irrelevant info that I possibly can. I just can't detach.

unfortunately, I would have to recluse myself in a deep, dark forest somewhere or a desert island, somewhere with no newspapers, electricity, internet or satellite connections. I am caught up in the web.
but I am hoping my puny and idealistic contributions help add to the total of all of our endeavors, and our ultimate success.

I can picture you carrying the torch for progressives in 2000 and 2004. There were so many fewer of us then, and the load was heavy. But now others have arrived: first they helped lighten your load, now they can carry it for a little while. You deserve a rest!

39. I sure do sympathize...and understand...I find myself looking for other

things to do, while another site I visit has positive, but at some times, also very negative posts about Obama...I just can't open and read many of those, because I don't know what's true and what isn't, or what to expect next, and it's like talking to the wall....What we have experienced for the last almost 8 years is totally unbelievable, yet, nothing they have done, sticks....They have gotten away with everything, but then want to call the kettle black(forgive the pun)....This whole election has been surreal...like something I can't quite put my finger on...yet I find myself getting more and more antsy...I am sure I will also have to cut out more and more hours, the closer the election gets, in order to preserve my sanity too....good luck on your sabbatical...looking forward to this all being over soon...and your return...wb
