No tomorrow for Republicans
This is weird. I've never seen a campaign before in which a party so fully threw all their credibility away. Openly inciting violence. Flagrantly attempting to suppress the vote. Lying right and left. 100% negative. Politicizing the market crash and offering nothing. Grandstanding the Georgia war. Promoting racism. Robocalls. Plumbers. I know they're desperate, but this is different than other desperate candidates. They are operating as if there is no tomorrow. As if there is not going to be a 2010 or 2012 election, or any after that. They are just doing anything they possibly can to try to win this one, no matter how much it will wreck their party - or the country - if they don't.

Do others see it this way?

Why are they doing this?

Theory 1) They'll get tried and jailed if they lose, so they're like cornered rats.

Theory 2) They just figure the party's going to be out of power for 30 years anyway, and by that time, anyone involved in today's races will be long gone from the scene, so they just don't care.

Theory 3) I'm over-reacting. This is just a typical tough campaign.

2. No Future!!

The Sex Pistols - "No Future" (1976)

God save the queen her fascist regime
It made you a moron a potential h bomb !

God save the queen she ain’t no human being
There is no future in england’s dreaming

Don’t be told what you want don’t be told what you need
There’s no future no future no future for you

God save the queen we mean it man (God save window leen)
We love our queen God saves (God save... human beings)

God save the queen cos tourists are money
And our figurehead is not what she seems
Oh God save history God save your mad parade
Oh lord God have mercy all crimes are paid

When there’s no future how can there be sin
We’re the flowers in the dustbin
We’re the poison in your human machine
We’re the future your future

God save the queen we mean it man
There is no future in england’s dreaming

No future for you no future for me
No future no future for you

9. Thanks!
This song has been on my mind the last couple of weeks.

I have been listening to a lot of 70's music recently, Patti Smith and Pink Floyd (Animals) for starters. The Clash and Sex Pistols are running thru my head and I wish I had CDs of theirs.

And I REALLY wish I could find Michael Franti/Spearhead's cover of Dead Kennedy's 'California Uber Alles'... ;)

3. Or, if we really want to get paranoid...
...they know the voting machines have already been rigged in their favor, so it doesn't matter what they do. So they go ahead and show their true ugly face.

Bachmann likes what she sees with the Palin campagin? They are burning all kinds of bridges.

Sure.. fire up the base but the moderates have got to be leaving in droves.

6. I've been thinking about this too

It may be that Rove has told them the election can be

successfully stolen.

This gives them license to say almost anything.

Just a thought...

Hope I'm wrong.

but they behave like they have nothing to lose

10. When people see their "world" collapsing they freak out.
I think that what we are seeing can be chalked up to simple panic with no rational guidance. There are elements in the Republican party that simply cannot accept a President Obama under any circumstances and they will say or do anything to stop him from winning. They can't use the "N" word in public so they use this Ayers/terrorist/ACORN stuff as a proxy for it. Barring that they will try their best to undermine him before he takes office.
