Just a reminder: the Vietnam War was "terrorism"(graphic images).
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 08:00 PM by Ken Burch
Ayers' tactics were stupid and ineffective, but...

Remember what he was trying to stop.

Remember what happened to Dr. King, RFK, and the Jackson State/Kent State martyrs, among others, who tried to stop the war by more "acceptable" means.)

And remember that the party that's obsessed with going on and on about Ayres is the party that's also still obsessed with proving that Vietnam could've been "won" after all, if only our leaders had killed a few hundred thousand MORE people.

These are pictures of the kind of thing the Republican Party thinks ISN'T terrorism:

(Warning:These images are disturbing. So is the truth.)

(Just had to put the reality in perspective, folks. The people who APPROVE of what was done in those photos are the ones who are going on about Ayers.)

1. Most Americans are blissfully ignorant of the millions of casualties inflicted
in Vietnam and Iraq: the devastation, death, and carnage wrought seemingly have never entered our national psyche and conscience.

2. Some of us lived with that war for over a decade...and then some.

Blissful ignorance may have been evident at the start of the "conflict" but it did not remain that way. If you were around in 1968 you would know what I mean. If you weren't, you haven't a clue.

4. Agreed. I hope I didn't bring back some bad things for you.
I have the utmost respect for those who were in that war and are still recovering from it.

5. I'm old enough to remember Pearl Harbor and was speaking of most Americans,
including almost all who are eaten up with RW ideology. Unlike John McCain, my oldest 1st cousin did not survive when his plane was shot down in Vietnam. :D
