If Obama wins this thing, we should play the patriotism card on the RWers we know

You know you want to. Years of pent up frustration unleashed.

It might be kind of fun to throw some of their rhetoric back in their faces.

Imagine this in 2009:

You are with one of your Republican friends/co-workers/acquaintances and after hearing him/her bitch and complain about President Obama, you say something along the lines of:

"If you don't like the way President Obama is running the country, then you are free to leave America"

or

"How dare you smear our commander-in-chief while we have troops in the field!" (We will still have troops in Afghanistan and it will take a year and half to get out of Iraq).

or

"When you smear our commander-in-chief you play right into the hands of Al Qaeda!"

or

"You cannot say you love America, if you do not also stand with our leader."

1. It's tempting.

But a better way is "Like we've been telling you for 8 years, dissent is patriotic."

2. Very tempting, but you know they would have some excuse or other for their

attitude. They'll find some way to justify it, and in their mind they will be super patriots.
