what do you think Elizabeth Edwards thinks when she reads DU ?
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 02:19 AM by JI7
with all these demands on what the campaign has to do and people acting as if the campaign is not aware of things.

Mrs. Edwards is one of the few who has info on what is going on at the top and has a direct say in campaign strategy and of course she is a part of the campaign.

do you think Mrs. Edwards sees a disconnect between what she sees and hears on the campaign trail what she sees and hears on DU and other online forums?

keep in mind that she has been a regular computer user for a while and she would check out DU during the primary also. and she has also been a part of a successful campaign in the primary. even though edwards came in 2nd, it was an impressive 2nd which made him look like a winner.

1. She's probably shaking her head right now
at the garbage being posted here tonight, that's for sure. I'm shaking my head right now; I can't believe I'm seeing this.

2. She probably has already seen and heard it all

She's a pro and she knows that the democratic party is a big tent party which tolerates dissent and that on election day we will all come together and vote for John Kerry to get rid of that Ass George W. Bush.

she reacts to people, I would be willing to bet that she looks for the most human stories and exchanges to add to the Edwards repertoire of what is wrong with this country and how to fix it.I wouldn't think she comes here for campaign advice but to put a human side on the issues.JMHO

5. I'm Reading John's Book "Four Trials" And I Suspect That She Can
Empathize with the frustration that every Democrat feels in the face of Rove's Nazi-like tactics and a supportive, docile media.

Since we cannot make the decisions, the source of our frustration is clear.

If there is one thing that I do think the Edwards understand that is frustration.

We just hope that the campaign makes the right decisions that lead to victory.

7. IIRC, DU polls favored Clark over Edwards for VP. She's probably dumped
us by now. Besides, she's an integral part of the Kerry/Edwards team and likely can't afford the luxury of leisure reading.

10. I would think she understands we are just humans and we react
to things that we have no control of. Like this Judicial Watch slandering Kerry with legal investigations into money laundering, and forcing a Naval investigation into the medals and his records.

Our frustrations run deep too, we have all our hopes on them to win this election. I honestly wouldn't think she would take to much offense to what we say. Our involvement in what ever capacity means we still care and we are still fighting for them in what ever capacity we can. If I were them, I would worry more if these forums became distracted, off topic, out of touch or worse still.. quite.

11. Hey Elizabeth - your husband's smart AND hot
Nice pull, girl!

Don't worry about all this griping and whining we're apt to do -- we're all voting for Kerry, are convincing as many people as we can to do the same, and wherever you and John and Kerry and Teresa lead, we'll follow.

Give the kids a kiss for us!

14. She likely realizes DU is just a message board
And a board with many opinions.

I'm thinking if she's been reading DU lately, some of this stuff is getting her itchy to really pump up the team.

And I'm sure Ms. Edwards is not the only person higher-up in the campaign that reads DU. They've got something up their sleeves. I can feel it. Wait and see. It's not over yet.

15. I hope she realizes that Kerry/Edwards wanted the nomination

and were willing to do anything to get it. Now I expect them to go after bush just as hard as they went after other democrats in the primary season.

If she reads this I hope she realizes I think her husband is too conservative for some of us (on certain issues) and I don't like his vote for the IWR or his defense of his vote. I hope that she realizes that if they were running against anyone but bush I would not be voting for a ticket that trusted bush to do the right thing. I hope if they win they will expose a more liberal side.

I hope she thinks to tell her husband that the war in Iraq is wrong and immoral (not just "done wrong"} and if he and Kerry are going to govern in the center where they are running they will lose my vote in 2008 (if they win this time). I hope she thinks about how very sad that will be since I have voted a STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC TICKET SINCE 1976.

Hopefully Mrs Edwards in an intelligent woman who feels it is important to hear how actual democrats feel and think rather than someone who needs endless affirmation about how we are all happy happy unified democrats.

BTW, my step mother in NH was/is an Edwards supporter and he knows her by her first name, Connie. So if Mrs Edwards is reading this I am sure that Connie would want me to  and say hello and how happy she is that he is on the ticket.
