I just can't see Powell endorsing McCain.
After McCain's disastrous choice of Palin for VP, I don't believe Powell could ever endorse McCain.

I have no idea if he will endorse Obama, but the only realistic choices are staying quiet or backing Obama.

1. He endorsed McCain in the primary
I can't see him doing anything other than endorsing McCain.

2. If McCain had chosen a competent VP, that might be an option.

4. I believe he donated that in August 2007 - when our candidate was supposedly pre-ordained
Remember, this time last year our candidate had all but taken the nomination (Hillary).

I'm starting to retract a bit on my previous assertions that Powell will endorse McCain. Things are falling into place that make sense for him to endorse Obama.

7. That was over a year ago
I saw that it was August of 2007. It wouldn't be a stretch that he would support Obama
instead. In August 2007, conventional thought was that Hillary would be the Democrat.

I read that the McCain people asked him that if he was going to endorse Obama to hold off
and not do it until the end out of respect for their friendship.

I think that there wouldn't be this big "to-do" if he was going to endorse McCain.

15. Yeah, and he's a Republiocan who has served as a cabinet member in
a GOP administration.

He will not buck the trends. He will endorse McCain and it will be all that the talking heads will go on and on about for the next two weeks.

Just watch.

3. Agree. And if he wanted to stay quiet
it's unlikely that he would have decided to go on MTP.

5. If Powell wants to help Obama, he'll endorse McCain.
As far as I'm concerned, an endorsement from Powell isn't a plus.

14. "as far as I'm concerned"

That's the whole point.

You are way to the left politically. This endorsement isn't FOR you.

Obama has your vote already.

This endorsement would be for independents. Powell is VERY popular among them.

16. He may want my vote in 2012 as well
he only has it this year because he's not McCain and is the only logical choice. I do sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect a lot to change with an Obama administration and an endorsement from a whore like Powell only reenforces that expectation.

6. Who the hell would publically endorse McCain at this point?
Even the rabid conservatives are dumping him.

9. A gutless coward who sold out his country for politics?
Bingo!

Let's have that speech again, Powell.
