If Powell does endorse Obama, Obama will surge and turnaround the momentum in this race
No one on here should be unhappy about an Powell endorsement. A Powell endorsement automatically changes the tilt of the race from Mccain having all the momentum and rising in the polls to Obama re-establishing a double digit lead. Embrace it. He will bring many undecideds unsure about Obama onto our train.

Thank you Colin Powell. We needed your endorsement right now more than ever. You stopped the Mccain surge.

4. Is Powell still relevant?
Obama needs a "game changer" and I dont doubt that he has a few up his sleeve, but is Powell really big news? I'm not being condescending but i wonder if hw really carries that much weight anymore. He has been out of it for four years now and in some circles that's an eternity.

I hope that whatever he does helps Obama, but is Powell really a big deal?

They're not looking that great. 50-46 in the one night DKOS sample last night...

And GW went from +13 to +4. A Powell endorsement halts whatever the fuck is going on out there.

These polls are going to tighten....Just because he ain't up by 20 doesn't mean he's fading like your faith in his campaign....

Why don't YOU endorse him by doing a little phone calling or volunteering???

17. McCain is slowly picking up the "undecided" voters who would go for him anyway
That's not true momentum. The fact is that McCain has been at unnaturally low levels, below 45% in many polls, while Obama is at the ceiling of about 50% which is almost impossible for any Democrat to pass by much. It's only normal for McCain to pick up a few points as we approach Nov. 4th.

What, minor noise and fluctuation in the polls in the last few weeks before the election is a "surge"?

Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 11:42 AM by Jennicut
plus turn a blue state red? Do not go by one or two point changes in the national polls. Even small shifts in the state polls will not save McInsane's wrinkly old ass. He needs to win CO, NV, VA, OH, FL, NM and turn PA or another blue state red. I just don't see that happening. Obama is doing too good in VA and will most likely get NM. He is doing well in all the other blue states as well. You guys are telling me that an uptick in national polling by a point or two means he can do all that? It could be Montana or Georgia or Texas simply going redder. There is no McCrap surge that could overcome all that unless Obama had some huge scandal come out about him.
