Last night, at Fairfield University there was a debate between Republican incumbent Representative Chris Shays and his challenger Democrat Jim Himes. Chris Shays, the only Republican Congressman in New England was asking his Connecticut constituents for another term saying he works 24 hours, 7 days a week for them. But Jim Himes slammed him for being a Bush-McCain supporter and for being a cheerleader of the Iraq War. At one point in the debate, Chris Shays said that in all likelihood Barack Obama will be the next US President and that he will be happy to work with him in a bipartisan fashion. Looks like Shays has thrown Bush and McCain under the bus, but it is too little too late. The latest Survey USA poll shows Himes ahead 49-45% of the multi-term Republican Congressman.
