But this year, with the fact that two candidate not really tied to any past administrations are running, is a different story.
I think the people who have now watch all of the debates and are not yet decided will take their newspapers endorsement into greater consideration. I think people will make their last decisions on two or three things, how their family and friends are voting, how the newspaper and other so-called opinion makers are breaking and finally, just a gut feeling.
So far, Obama has earned the endorsement of 39 daily newspapers and four national magazines. McCain has 15 daily endorsements.
This is going to be a factor and could tip the race.
Most papers have not endorsed as of yet. Get ready for a whole bunch of endorsements coming down the pike in the next few days.
