Today was a day full of news and surprises. 1. On Morning Joe, I have to give lots of credit to harold Ford, Jr. for holding his own, even when he was ready to explode, against the vicious and vitriolic attacks by Pat Buchanan and an unhinged Joe Scarborough who were very angry that the post-debate polls had decided that Barack Obama had a huge victory over McCain in Debate III. Former Rep. Ford went to bat for Barack and explained to the RW goons in the show Obama's positions on the economy and health care.
2. Joe The Plumber turns out to be a GOP plant, many suspicious connections and political views, owes taxes, unlicensed in his trade, liens against him. He is not enjoying his sudden fame and once again proves an epic fail for McCain's vetting process. This one has backfired for the lackadaisical McCain campaign.
3. Wall Street remains very volatile; early in the day the DOW had dropped to -200's before rallying by day's end to +401.35. Hopefully we hit bottom, but most likely we will continue on this roller-coaster ride until after the election.
4. At Democratic Underground, one of the funniest posts ever surfaced today with a Photo-montage of McCain's tongue after the debate. It indeed is so funny that you will have a high risk of dying from laughter if you enter the discussion in the post. Highly recommended!
5. Rush The Comedian Limbaugh went crazy today attacking the media, even throwing Faux news under the bus for not being forcefully enough to investigate "Obama's past" and his previous connections. He is predicting the end of the world when Obama becomes President. Later, Sean "Anti-Semite" Hannity continued his rampage and odious narrative about Ayers, etc. and Obama's birth certificate. They are so predictable that it is a shame that they waste so much oxygen out of our atmosphere that it forces our flora to increase their photosynthesis to keep up with these toads.
6. The polls...well, as expected there seems to be some statistical noise interpreted as "tightening". The state polls and especially the Battleground states do not show much if any movement for McCain. The latest set of polls, Gallup, Rasmussen, Battleground, and Hotline (done before Debate III) show minimal movement for the beleaguered Republican candidate. Drudge is extremely disappointed and now has dug out the TIPP poll which shows a 3 point race. So, we will follow these national polls from a distance while keeping an eye in the electoral college which shows an imminent Democratic landslide with long coat-tails for Obama.
7. My best news, Bush lackey, Chris Shays, 4th District in Connecticut (and the only GOP COngressman in New England) is losing big time against his Democratic challenger Jim Himes in the latest Survey USA poll. Shays it isn't so, Chris, pack your bags, you are leaving Washington, DC
