"Joe the Plumber" needs to be the poster boy for "Joe Six Pack" voting against his own interests.
The Republicans have been duping poor schmucks like this for decades. Guys who fantasize that they're rich, that they will be rich some day in the near future. It's pathetic really - and Mr. Wurzelbacher is a perfect example of this sort of self delusion.
Micheal Moore explains this brilliantly in Dude, Where's My Country? in the chapter titled Horatio Alger Must Die.
I think that conceit of being 'rich in the future' has been easy for the 'pubs to foster. 'Everyman' is always secretly Superman - secretly a 'very important person'.
Joy said that Joe's plan (and this was before all of the good stuff on him broke) to buy a business is a fantasy, and Elizabeth snapped "that's a dangerous thing to say, Joy." Uh, as opposed to calling people terrorists? Gotcha.
9. she was trying to say it was "dangerous to the American dream" to say that
in other words, more right wing BS. She also randomly shouted out "Joe Biden said that Obama was not qualified to be president!", when they were discussing the debate. Clearly desperate.
