2. I suspect the "big news" was something of an urban legend

that started among a couple of people working ON the campaign, as opposed to IN the campaign. I encountered it on the Yahoo Clark newsgroups (and here) so I imagine it grew in the telling.

Maybe some folks were jealous of Dean getting endorsed by Gore, and Bush personally finding Hussein and wanted something to top the Madonna endorsement. Maybe it was doubling the cake take.

I suspect we'll never know.

I guess Clark will have to quit, now that nothing happened on Saturday.

From what I gather a pretty senior staff woman said something that may be partly true about big things...but not a specific thing for the 20th as it turns out.

But the guy I talked to a couple of days ago got all sort of mysterious when I asked him about this....but he said something about maybe money would see something happening....so I don't know.

12. I thought the Milosevic testimony was supposed to come out with video

today. I've been waiting to see it on tv, but it hasn't happened. Would have been a good day for it, too, with not too much happening in the news, after a "big" news week. I don't think the True Grits Tour would involve rumblings of 'big news,' though I suppose it depends on where you heard it.
