38. My husband told me just last night

that he overheard someone at work yesterday say a very similar thing. Something to the effect of, "If Obama is elected we'll have black people all over the place. I don't want a bunch of black people living next door to me."

I asked hubby if he said anything (my hubby is a very quiet and non-intrusive sort). He said that he asked them why having a black president would make any difference at all on the racial makeup of our town (or something to that effect) and then commented that he (my hubby) has lived in larger communities, known and worked with black people and that he knows a whole lot more stupid white people than black people.

I guess that shut those guys up. I couldn't believe my husband actually said something to them and pretty much shut them down. :loveya: I wish I had been there, though, because I would have been much more "blunt" shall we say? They would have gotten much more of an earful from me. But hubby still got the dig in, so that was great!

We live in a red county surrounded by mostly blue counties. Most of the people that my hubby works with are all repubs, including his bosses - the owners. He is subjected to a lot of their craptalk. Hubby stays pretty quiet about his political position but in one conversation with his direct supervisor it came up and his supervisor just couldn't wrap his brain around "why" hubby would be a Dem considering the business they are in. :eyes:
