I'm concerned--so help me, I'm concerned about Joe the Plumber.
This is one of those "So crazy it just might work" things that, who knows, might give McCain a comeback. Stranger things have happened--maybe in ten years years, all the TV pundits will be talking about the "Joe the Plumber" moment that such and such a candidate needs to pull ahead.

Who knows? Talk me down, somebody. :scared:

6. Unless Joe wants to replace all of my underslab pipes for free, he can kiss my ass.
If he'll do the plumbing for $0, I might kiss his ass. But I'm still voting for Obama. :P

38. My problem is unstable sub-soil.
I'm on a levee, the slabs been cracking and while my running water is in the walls, my drains are affected.
Worse than that, corners of the house are dropping and I really need a full foundation from scratch, or tear her down.

Think Willie Horton.

It's not about the truth of the issue.

It's what McCain makes of it.

11. I wouldn't got that far--Horton appeared in attack ads as early as mid-September 2008.
The one everyone remembers came out on October 5th.

Besides, Horton was a murdering rapist. Joe the Plumber isn't even a plumber...

But again, I don't know...

19. Actually, Horton had been an issue for a few years
The Lawrence Eagle-Tribune won a Pulitzer for a series on the breakdown of the Mass. prison furlough program, and Al Gore used the issue against Dukakis during the Democratic primaries. The Willy Horton issue had been "incubating" for a long time. This plumber thing is a 48 hour flash in the pan.

shared by most Americans. I was worried last night, but not today. His problem is he said too much. Plus, if this means they will show the clip of him with Obama a lot, then that is good for Obama.

20. relax...what Isitjustme said on #1
I just saw MSNBC do a clip of old Joe saying he is against Social Security.
Think all those retired older swing voters are going to give up their checks?
No way they are swayed by this guy when he wants to take away their ability to pay for their prescriptions and heating oil.
All those years working, finally retired and for many, their sole source of income is the SS check.
More and more will come out about this skinhead and the RNC will disappear him.

WTF? you're afraid of this very menacing looking guy who isn't even registered to vote, has already referenced "Sammy Davis Jr." in regard to Obama, whines because he makes 250k a year and doesn't want to pay taxes, and comes off as a total prick? Now we find out he's a relative of the Keatings?

Do not worry.. America is not going to suddenly turn to McCain because this guy was totally rude to Obama and is being held up as "everyman"

They insist on making a star out of him and letting him repeat on the air his thick-headed, short-sighted, idiotic message of how he's supporting McCain because of Obama raising his taxes and not letting him realize his "American Dream".

You think he makes 250K TAXABLE income in this small business he WANTS to buy you are crazy. He said something about 'revenue' I think. That is not taxable income that would raise his txs under Obama's plan. Obama should clear this all up that Joe the Plumber is not your average joe who is not making income of 250K. This Joe crap is getting out of hand on tv today and Obama needs to get the facts out.

54. My concern is minimal because...
Aren't the same jackasses that love Joe "The Plumber" and his "refreshing" ideas already falling over themselves with Failin anyway?

I also find it hard to wrap my mind around people being upset about Joe maybe one day, possibly, if it goes his way, having to pay an extra few hundred bucks a year in taxes. We are talking about people making like $4800 a week that demand that the people making $280 a week pay the same rate as them and of course less on their capital gains, so they actually end up paying less of a percentage than the person who will miss every single dollar.

Joe should be thankful that he has been blessed. A great many people work hard and work long hours for a fraction of Joe's dream future pay, including supposedly Joe.

Any asshole that is like Joe needs to be forced to watch a continuous loop of "A Christmas Carol" and "The Grinch" fucking "Clockwork Orange" Style for a 10 year stretch.
They want the tax code to absolutely inhibit upwards movement from the low end of the pool, so those at the top can get their new boat a year earlier.
