Palin's rally this morning - stranger than usual
Did anyone notice her change of tone today? Usually she has a bit of intensity, today she was flip, breezy and even folksier than usual, pointing at every veteran (it was odd), rambling and squeaky-voiced, and sounding more like a game show host than a vice presidential candidate.

She knows the game is up and is trying to get her unfavorable ratings down before election day so she can go for the nomination in 2012. She wasn't even trying to campaign. She rushed through her praise of McCain and then did the game-show routine with the crowd. For once I wasn't cursing at the television when she appeared because it's so obvious she's phoning it in. Maybe she saw the campaign internals this morning, or is just reacting to McCain's terrible debate performance but the change is obvious, like someone flipped a switch.

1. Her speech is nothing more than a bunch of soundbites strung together....
... she woke me up then immediately gave me a headache.

19. She got off her plane and walked into a hanger
That was as much of Maine as she visited.

Thankfully, she's gone now.

24. Tell me she was chased out by angry Mainers.
I'm already pissed at her over her little jab at Massachusetts in NH the other day. "All those poor Massachusetts folks who got tired 'a' payin' all dem taxes!"

Fuck you, Barbie, fuck you a thousand times with a baseball bat covered in barbed wire in every orifice.

Are you sure this wasnt to 'shore up' McCains talking point last night when he claimed he was proud of the people who attend their rallies. Then he tried to cast the attendees as Veterans (from WWII even!!), etc. It was a failed attempt to turn Obama's charge that Palin was not showing leadership when people at the rallies were yelling 'Kill him' and 'Terrorist' into Obama slamming the Veterans / not supporting the troops.

7. Sarah Palin has no future in national politics. She is a blip on the radar screen, an anamoly who
was chosen on a lark by desperate Republicans who, I believe, had no idea just how
insane and inadequate she really was when they picked her.

She may wind up with a career as a TV personality of some sort, but she doesn't belong in
national politics and, as soon as this election is over, she will become the Pet Rock of 2008.

Buh-bye, Sarah. Glad to see you go.

14. Spot-on analysis.
She will be relegated to a Trivial Pursuit question in 25 years.

8. My goal is to send her back to Alaska with the sense that she's lucky to even
still be governor--and to "Quayle" her so that she becomes a permanent national joke who never again runs for President.

13. She's going to need a lot more than folksy crap to get those unfavorables down
I will always remember her just as she was: incompetent, hateful, power-hungry, bull-headed, tight-lipped and evil.

She could cure cancer right now and still have me skeptical.

18. She has an even shorter shelf-life than
Katherine Harris. When the GOP doesn't need you any more (especially after you have served your purpose), your fifteen minutes of fame are over.

21. Katherine Harris
My brother lives outside of Miami (Homestead), and he voted Gore in 2000. You don't want to mention that name in front of him - he's gets really pissed if you do. That d*mn woman stole the 2000 election for Bush, and if it had been Gore president for the last two terms, perhaps America wouldn't be so screwed up!
