David Brooks going on an on about Obama being...
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 01:53 AM by Emit
"...a mountain."

"Reassuring and reliable."

:wow:

On Charlie Rose now.

Of course, he's still getting his digs in (Obama ducked the question on what he's going to have to cut from his budget proposals and how's he gonna pay for his plans?). But his opening remarks were surprisingly complimentary.

So many 'conservatives' have come to realize Obama is the only choice. McCain is not an option.

On edit, now Mark Halperin, Al Hunt, David Brooks, Charlie Rose, and a few more, all talking about Obama's "leadership, boldness, and confidence" -- comparing him to great presidents -- talking as if he's already won. It's all Obama - they've pretty much dropped all discussion about McCain.

3. heh
I just keep thinking about how Brooks talked about how intellectually stimulating Obama is...and how Obama emailed him (in response to a Brooks article where he blamed Repubs for financial crisis, but also included a line that blamed Democrats) "You only included the line that blamed Democrats to make yourself feel better", and Brooks said "he was right, I DID only include it to make myself feel better". I swear, that BS "two faces of Obama" article by Brooks was really about his own conflicting feelings for Obama.

4. I hate when these idiots say, "Obama dodged questions on things to cut."
In actuality in this scenario they are wrong. Obama clearly said they were spending money incorrectly in certain medicare systems and he plans on cutting those misallocations of funds in order to restructure the medicare system. I remember that and it's in the debate.

But to be more specific...what irks me is that until Obama is in Presidency, until he has all the programs laid out and he sees what he's inherited by the idiots in charge now and what is going on in Wall Street post Bail-Out bill; there's nothing he can cut. These pundits and questioners are so fuckin' stupid and one sided it boggles my mind. Why ask such a question when clearly he wouldn't know until he's there to get through everything and start the way forward for this economy. Until he's in charge there's nothing he can really do or explain in debth in regards to policy moves which deals with eliminating one specific program for another. Or what kind of finance we'll have when Jan rolls around. What they have to realize is that, January is a long way away and until then there's no point predicting since no one can tell whether it will be better or worse.

"people know it in their bones" that if the Dems win the WH and pick up more seats in Congress, they are going to "spend, spend, spend..." "Why didn't McCain" talk more about this? ... something like that. :eyes:
