25. Middle class is those making under 5 million according
to rich old man mccain. So I guess 1 million is working class and most of us are under the poverty level. No I forgot, the poverty level is as follows.

2008 HHS Poverty Guidelines

48 States and D.C.
1 unit = $10,400
2 unit = 14,000
3 unit = 17,600
4 unit = 21,200
5 unit = 24,800
6 unit = 28,400
7 unit = 32,000
8 unit = 35,600

8. It's confusing to me. Obama did good in using the term, "small business."
McCain confused the issue by making Joe the Person equal to his business. Today, I imagine that Joe the Person might have trouble getting a loan to purchase the business he works for.

10. McLame's true base begins at 250,000+
Those making less who may consider themselves part of his base, in reality, have nothing to do with the true goals of repuke policies.

11. Because your are real poor if you make 250k a year
To the republicans you are lower class. The are so out of touch with what an average American makes it is just sad. Sad for all of us if they win this election.

13. and I saw the transcript from an interview.. he was a total jerk.
He danced around the topic of working hard and seeing it taken away for taxes to pay for the people who don't work hard... and that he "didn't appreciate" that Obama just said the same stuff he always says.. and went as far as to say "I didn't exactly tune him out... but.. " (behold the underlying truth, as they say.) He is just another one of those people that doesn't want to give anything up.. thinking that the repubs are going to help him tax-wise, but is too clueless to realize that he's paying for that tax cut in other ways.

15. Only by McCain
Remember this is the guy who said you aren't "rich" unless you make $5million+ and referred to himself as "not a rich man."

Obama constantly drew a distinction between "Joe" and the middle class.

16. They all missed the point that the business GROSSES that much
There is no way that $250K is the net.

After you deduct your costs, equipment depreciation, wages, taxes, etc., you can cut that figure by 60%.

Joe, if you have $250,000 in revenues and are paying taxes on the whole amount, you have the worst accountant on the face of the planet.

19. Really, plus this Joe guy's comment I think comes across ...
as crass and selfish to most Americans facing hard times, especially newly facing hard times.

When the economy is going well, I can see the majority of people having the attitude of "Don't take my money! I worked hard for it - go get your own!"

And, don't get me wrong, I don't like to needlessly part with my hard-earned money, either.

However, this Joe guy's comment, "I don't want to share my money with other people" comes off, in today's climate, as rather crass to me. Just the way he said it.

Times are hard. We're supposed to join together as a nation to get through this.

I can see people railing against giving the GOVERNMENT more money (that is an easy target for people to see as the enemy), but I think his comment just comes across as a very selfish, thoughtless, me, me, me, gimmee, gimmee kind of guy.

20. Now that's where McNasty is so out of touch ! He just don't get it. I
don't think he can even imagine how little money a large percentage of hard working people make. He has never lived like that and doesn't care to lower himself to know that sort of people.
