CNN Story on Internet Rumors (So Annoying)
I hate the attempt to create equivalency. The claim internet rumors about banning books and Palin being an AIP member are false.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/15/internet.rumors/index.html

The thing is, as we all know here, the Palin stuff is very close to the truth. Maybe there wasn't a list of 70 books Palin wanted banned, but her church was in the process of trying to get a couple of specific books banned when she took office, she did ask the librarian three times about how she would handle a request to ban a book, she did fire her, and she did have to reinstate her due to public backlash.

Likewise, it may not be possible to prove that she was ever a card-carrying AIP member, but she did attend at least three conventions, she did send them a greeting while a sitting governor, her husband was a member for seven years, she does have several other close ties to AIP members, and the AIP does have a stated goal to infiltrate the political system by running as Republicans (and they are on tape saying she was a member and that she was the candidate they wanted in office).

1. Her close associations with AIP are no rumors.

2. Maybe we all need to send a link to the video saying she was a member.
How plain does it get? What about Todd? He was a member. Does she associate with someone who wants to secede from the country she wants to be president of? Will he be living off the public dole? That's OK? What if he changes his mind after she gets in office? What if she changes her mind after she gets in office? The AIP talks about infiltrating. How much closer can you get than to infiltrate the VP's office with a good possibility of sitting in the Oval Office?
