Palin on her political future: 'That's a good question'
Posted: 04:45 PM ET
From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) – Though her cell phone service repeatedly dropped during her call-in, Sarah Palin made her first appearance on the Rush Limbaugh show on Tuesday, just minutes before taking the stage at a rally in Scranton.

In an unusual moment, Limbaugh asked Palin if she had thought about her "political future beyond this campaign." The vice presidential nominee told the conservative talker and his millions of listeners: “That’s a good question.” But she then quickly re-assured the radio host that her focus was on winning the White House with John McCain on November 4.

Wow. There it is. They all know they're done. Incredible.

1. I know I'll probably feel stupid for asking
but what is the 'slip of the tongue?' I've read her reply five times, and it sounds like typical repug hubris to me.

4. Right...no slip of the tongue.
She says that anytime she's asked any question because it gives her time to think of an answer.

7. As Hagred says, "Wasn't supposed to say that."
When you're trying to get votes, it usually works better when you don't admit you're losing.

She's so dumb, she can't even survive Rush.

At this point, I'll bet they're hoping for a cameo on sesame street. Too bad Mr. Rogers is off the air....

2. Talk about the "not-ready-for-prime-time players"
That's a slip that she'll wish she hadn't made publicly.

A pro would have said "My future is as VP at President John McCain's side,"
and they would have said it even if they had been down 75%-25% in the polls.

I'd call her a rank amateur if it wouldn't be an insult to all the amateurs
out there who have more political skill in their left toenails than Sarah
Palin has in all her youbetchas.

3. I heard a snippet replayed on Hardball...
where she said "I have nothing to lose." I had just switched from CNN so couldn't roll it back.
