Poll question: Which State Will Put Obama Over The Top?
Which state when called will put Obama over 270 electoral votes?

4. New Mexico. Most of those states are either too far east or not enough EVs for them to put him over.

6. NM almost made my list. The eastern states
that I've chosen are all supposed to be close and many of them aren't likely to be called before polls have closed out west.

5. Agree with upthread comments about when network projections are made.
If Eastern Times states like Virginia and North Carolina go blue early in the evening, McCain has lost the election, likely by a substantial percentage.

And if early-close Indiana goes for Obama, McCain can give his concession speech by 9:30 Central.

7. California
I do not see over 270 electoral votes being called for Obama before the polls close in CA at 11PM EST. I also do not see less than 215 electoral votes being called for Obama by that same time. Therefore when they instantly call CA at 11PM EST when the polls are closed, Obama will top 270.

But I'll be just as happy if it's NC, Florida, and/or Virginia.

11. And the bullies will cry & whine & carry on for four years.
They are such poor losers! I am certain that that is why they are reacting so hatefully at the McCain rallies. It was not difficult for Palin to incite them - they are angry that they are losing. These people are developmentally stunted. They stopped maturing somewhere in the 7th grade.

12. Over the top? I'm starting to expect a 350+ electoral vote landslide - which Obama state will be the
narrowest margin for victory?

I'm thinking Indiana, maybe Missouri or West Virginia, possibly Montana.

17. I voted for Indiana...
Not because I think it will happen, but because this hoosier likes to dream.

Our polls close early and even if we do go dem, it will be too early to be decisive.

But if Indiana does go for Obama, game over. McCain may as well concede right then and there.

23. Can't win it mathematically in the Eastern Time Zone
I'm calculating the being called winner Missouri COULD cross the 270 threshhold in the Central Time Zone but only if Obama has also taken IN, VA, NC and FL by then.

Don't forget that Obama's PST and MST states add up to nearly 100 EV's so to be declared winner BEFORE Colorado and New Mexico come in, Obama would have to be on his way to a 370-406 EV win.
