....and focus on keeping the democrats from getting 60 seats in the senate

Right now we're in line for 58 seats (I know it says 59 but EV folks count Lieberman as supporting us in 2009, which I think he'll be dumped) AND we have 3 more states (KY, GA and MS) within striking distance AND Texas in view.

With this potential devestating loss and the concept that Obama could have the numbers needed to prevent filibusters, if the RNC had even half a brain they'd just pour all their money into races to help save Coleman(MN), Dole (NC) Smith(OR), Stevens(AK), McConnell(KY), Chambliss(GA), Sununu(NH), Wicker(MS) and Cornyn(TX) seats. (I think it's a lost cause to go after the 3 open seats in VA, CO and NM).

That's NINE incumbants that could be at risk. I would think that's the clearer picture than keeping the White House.

But these folks are idiots. And the nice thing for us is Obama has got such a great cash advantage that the DNC can focus on what's really important - getting that filibuster count for the Senate.

Edited to add Dole from NC
