Ed Schultz suggested Obama meet with the "He's and Arab" lady

He suggested they visit so she could get to know the real Obama. Might not be a bad idea, though I doubt if it will change her vote. Would be good to show he is someone who reaches out to even insane hatemongers.

2. I am gonna guess that she's so steeped in craziness that this is not a good idea.

7. She was taken aback that McCain would correct her as I recall: "No?", "No???"

As if he knew the truth and wasn't saying it because of some PC reason...instead of the reasoning that its' an outright lie and propagation of ignorance in the first place.

I give the old coot some credit. Maybe he does still have a few shreds of decency left.

12. I give him credit too.
He is far more decent than his campaign and its workers.

13. I personally don't dislike the guy. He's found himself swimming with the sewage to get elected.

That once again was his bad judgement call in selecting his team. In essence the same idiots who got Bush elected over him in 2000.

His policies are all wrong and he himself would not be a good leader to save his life but he personally doesn't sound like an asshole.

4. Among other things
there are lots of good Arabs. I don't think this woman would benefit from a meeting. She is clearly already prejudiced agaisnt Arabs - not to mention how she probably feels about African-Americans - but she seems to have really high levels of xenophobia and misinformation. How can anyone reach her?

Couldn't hurt.
She backed down pretty easily from her assertion that Obama was an Arab; she was caught parroting a RW talking point.

11. Good idea - I'd like to assume she is simply sheltered and ignorant
And has been spoon fed the RW talking points.

She may be surprised what she may see and hear with her own eyes and ears - if she were fortunate enough to meet Barack in person.

Not sure if Obama can take the time to do it, but from a PR standpoint - I like the idea!
