How Many New Voters This Time?
The increase in ## votes from 2000 to 2004 was 22 million. 100M in '00 ---- 122M in 04

To get a similar increase this year, we'll need another 25 million more votes. 122M + 25M = 147M

1. 2004 numbers
30 M new voters. If all the y2k voters stayed either Dem or pub, and bush won, then thatmeans 17M of the new voters voted for bush and just 13M voted for Kerry.

2. No way!
There is no way 17 M first time voters turned out and voted for Bush in 2004.

But that's what happened, according to the official numbers.

Kerry got just 8 M more votes than Gore, but Bush got 12 M more than he did in 2000.

3. Way!
The electronic voting machines flipped the 2004 pres. vote.

And I take it everyone agrees.
