...here's an idea, thanks to my little sister who also posts here:

Those of us who can afford it should go shopping, should go to restaurants and leave big tips, and (for those so inclined) should buy shares of stock in blue-oriented companies. I'd love for the news stories to be how the market and the economy started to bounce back immediately when Obama won.

You could sign up for an online trading account at say, Etrade or something, and then buy stock in Costco or other companies that contribute heavily to Dems. Be sure to check opensecrets.org to see who donates to whom.

I sold off all my stocks -- even my 401(k) -- two years ago, but an Obama win would be enough to make me reinvest.

5. Check opensecrets.org

That will show you which companies are the bluest. If nothing else, you could just call 'em up the next day and say you're buying their products now because they helped Obama get to the White House.

I still have a Merrill Lynch account due to my pension plan and my former 401(k) holdings, so I might use that, but I'm actually more tempted to open up a new trading account. I'll have to see which of the online trading firms contributes most heavily to Dems and go with that one.
