John McCain: What a BABY!
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 11:46 AM by EffieBlack
You didn't say a word when your running mate and surrogates accused Obama of being a terrorist and terrorist sympathizer. But now you're running around whining and pouting because Obama hasn't apologized for something said by a person not even connected to his campaign that compared you to an American politican and public official who is largely responsible for your party even being where it is today.

Pathetic.

For a so-called straight-talking big man military patriot, you're acting pretty wimpy these days. You can't look your opponent in the eye. You crack on him behind his back but don't have the balls to tell him what you think of him to his face. You don't have the integrity to even publicly disagree with, much less criticize the vicious accusations your hand-picked partner, associates and surrogates have hurled at him.

On the other hand, Obama has outclassed and outmaneuvered you, once again, showing the courage and grace to publicly say that he does not agree with Rep. Lewis' characterization of your policies (but what he left out speaks volumes about what he thinks of you, doesn't it?), although Lewis doesn't represent or speak for him or his campaign. You have consistently ducked any responsibility for what your minions are saying and doing, but when someone on the other side of the spectrum calls you out, you whine and moan and run to mommy like a two-year-old. "Wahhh Hahhhh! He's PICKING on me! Make him stop! Make him stop!

There's really only one way to describe how you're behaving these days . . .

Senator, you're acting like a punk.

1. Absolutely. McCain is the biggest wimp ever to run for President.
Bob Dole had bigger cojones than this guy.

Now that he is no longer the media darling of old, we are seeing it.

6. The media jumped on the remarks and made Obama answer
Its so unfair! Last Friday, Rush Limbaugh gave a sermon with the rhetorical title, "When Are We Going To Riot?" Why doesn't McCain have to take a position on that? Such a double standard! The right wing media is full of hatred and lies and McCain encourages rather than discourages it.

I don't think Lewis was off the mark anyway. Lewis's point was that inflammatory speech can lead to violence. Right wing terror is already happening. In July, a Michael Savage and Sean Hannity fan murdered and wounded Unitarian Church members. The Southern Poverty Law Center recorded 60 instances of right wing terrorism between 1995 and 2005.

7. The racial aspect of this cannot be ignored
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 01:15 PM by EffieBlack
I seriously doubt that the press would have been so eager to make Obama accountable for Lewis' comment if Lewis were white. White politicians, even those who support Obama, have been saying all manner of critical things about McCain, but Obama is not called on to distance himself from or repudiate them.

Obama and other black politicians are consistently expected to denounce other black people who make "offensive" comments - and what constitutes "offensive" is usually anything that makes any white person uncomfortable. On the other hand, McCain is not held responsible for offensive or controversial comments made by other white people - even when they are on his own team or payroll.

8. They're pretty obvious, aren't they?

McCain can't look anyone in the eye and make his allegations. Instead of going after Lewis, who is after all a United States Congressman, he goes after Obama. Their supporters are much worse, but it is obvious which poisoned tree the apples fell from.
