The *GAME CHANGER* . . . that nobody is talking about

**LONG-TERM POLICIAL LANDSCAPE WILL BE DEMOCRATIC**

Weather it will be McCain (not) or Obama this election year, the fact is that they both support amnesty of the 19M Mexicans currenly living and working in this country.

Should Obama win this election (which I'm confident he will at this point), I think wither it be 2012 or 2016 there will be 20 million new Mexican American taxpayers in this country that will likely be voting for the very 1st time in their lives here.

Do you think they will be voting Republican?

Hell no they won't. These are working class people trying to improve their lot in life. This folks is a "GAME CHANGER" for the long-term political landscape of our country.

I think Repubs seriously don't want to talk about this because they know it's coming.

2. That's why the Rethug masses are so scared to death
They see the upcoming rise of the American minority. If Obama wins and gets those people on his side...that's a HUGE swath of voters that will be Dem-by-Default (maybe not as much as Blacks 90-10...but in the 60-70 range).

3. Yes, and I'm sure the Hispanics seeing bloodlusted Republican lynch mobs will be sure to vote Red.

4. Don't be so sure.
I've already heard from my local Democratic chair that there are plenty of Hispanics here that will not vote for Obama. Some are very religious and will vote the abortion issue only; some will vote for any candidate perceived as being easy on immigration. And some will vote against Obama's father's race, just like the redneck Texans down the street from me.

8. True. Hispanics flocking to Pentacostal and Evangelical churches
Dems have to give them good reasons to vote Democratic.

5. Granting Amnesty Allows Them to Vote?
Is that how the proposals work?

12. Possibly. Amnesty may lay out the expedited path to citizenship.
Now not all Mexicans will be voting Dem for the religious reasons mentioned in this thread, but Dems will get at minimum 75-80% of 20 million.

This is enough to change the playing field for a long, long time.

7. Its really just a lesson in history
Dem's brought African American's under their wings when FDR de-segregated Gov institutions that had been segregated since Woodrow Wilson.

If we can pass immigration reform that gives these people a true path to citizenship and acknowledge that they are a big part of our country and economy, they'll vote for us.

14. Agree ..
Agree, if they are to receive amnesty at some point and become legal working and taxpaying citizens .... then at some point they also have the right to be voting citizens of this country.

I still maintain that they need to learn our American history, learn to speak our language and we will continue to learn theirs, and still have the same process for maintaining citizenship in our country.
